How to play:

It's simple, really. Look at the sports-related pictures above, and give us your funniest caption for any or all of them. You can write as many captions for each as you would like.

The challenge runs daily, Monday-Thursday. Each day's competition will usually be posted by noon ET, and will usually end around 11 p.m. ET. On Monday and Wednesday, Community member ktopp24 will be the judge. On Tuesday and Thursday, I'll run the show. If one of the judges decide that your caption is the funniest or most clever submitted for that picture, it will be declared a winner.

Winning captions will be announced when that day's challenge ends. There will be one winner for each picture, and also one winner for the person who can string together the 5 best captions all with the same theme.

You will be awarded one point for each winning caption that you post. You will see a running tally on the scoreboard, which will be posted at the beginning and end of each day. At the end of each month a champion is declared, and we shower that user in praise and adulation! We add his screenname to the Wall-O-Fame, and then we start everyone's score back at zero.

This is just for fun, and there are no real prizes at this time. Who thinks they can make us laugh? :)

Tough call on the theme post. Lot of tough calls, actually.  Foot in mouth

Today's contest will be up by noon ET... hopefully.

1.  And the winning word for the skydiving Scrabble challenge was Backpack.  As in, nobody will see that triple word score, because I switched out your parachute with a -- Backpack

BuccinGator
2) In the classic case of the "Fight or Flight" response, whereas most matadors choose fight, Diego clearly prefers flight.

nathan2940
3) Little Jimmy's attempt to re-create the dolphin trick of swimming above the water after a recent trip to Sea World was only somewhat hampered by his dislexia.

Vive_LeBron
4- Nationals GM Mike Rizzo always carries a giant, lower case T to his contract negotiations. "It stands for "Time to sign" he said. "It worked for Strasburg last year, I figured it would work for Harper this year too. Nobody ever seems to want to say 'no' to me when I show up with it. Its like my good luck charm." MLB officials could not be reached for comment.

5) Penn and Teller, the college years.

Mr. Mo-Chi
Inspired by some of our favorite movies

1) Top Gun. "No no. There's 2 O's in Goose!"
2) Bull Durham. You got it wrong kid. You're supposed to hit the bull if you want a free steak!!
3) Friday the 13th. He's literally looking for a face to face confrontation with Jason at Crystal Lake.
4) Any vampire movie there is. Keep up with the times, vampires are pansies now. They want nothing to do with us. You're safe.
5) The Bad News Bears. Simon felt bad, so he looked up the kid who played Engleberg and offered him some work.

I see Joe has adopted the ktopp scoring schedule. Sorry guys. Wasn't feeling too hot last night and I ended up passing out around 9 p.m. I'll jump on the scoring in a few minutes.

1.  It was all smiles until one of them remembered there wasn't any pen or paper to keep score with, negating that triple word score for the one on the right.

1.  About right now, the word I'd be spelling is defecation, because that's what would be happining.  I would have worn a brown jumpsuit.

2.  As Pedro was launched high in the air by the crazed bull, he could only think of one thing as he showed some amazing acrobatic form, "I picked a bad day to stop popping painkillers,"

3.  It was hard standing on his head in 6 inches of water, but a good flat rock and a lot of training with the Cirque Du Soleil always made this merry prank photo a good one,

4.  Soccer players are now preparing to add props to their dives on the field.  Here we see this one preparing the classic cross dive, hoping the nails in the hands might convince the ref to give them a penalty kick.

5.  Major League Baseball trots out the only two people in the world who would be worse franchise owners than any of the current ones.

5.  Penn Jillett's next victims through the woodchipper.
